Meeting the Demand for Interim Legal Services

For lawyers secondment, short-term services on project or free lance basis, has traditionally been rather unusual. Even today secondment of lawyers is still not allowed in some countries, possibly to protect existing law firms.

The advantages however are clear: there is no employment contract, so the lawyer's services are only used when really needed. For instance during sudden high workloads. Or when an organisation is being restructured. Or to keep the workflow uninterupted during illness or temporary vacancies in the permanent legal staff.

Clients can also draw from the wide experience interim lawyers possess. Law firms tend to focus on high quality advise, but as they are out of house, these firms can be less aware of the specific business needs at hand. Additionally, law firms tend to be more expensive.

Our chief lawyer Abraham van Heel saw the need for such flexible legal services at an early stage. And for over a decade Legal Counsel Services tries to provide the best legal assistance on an interim basis.
